Carrier-Connect

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026 · Version v2-2026-09-01

This policy explains what data Carrier-Connect ("the Platform") collects, what we use it for, and who we share it with. It's a general template — as with the Terms and Conditions, it should be reviewed with a lawyer before operating under it in production, especially given the data-protection laws that may apply depending on where your users live.

1. What data we collect

From all accounts: full name, email, phone (optional).

From shipper accounts: company name (optional), and the details of the loads you post (origin, destination, vehicle details).

From carrier accounts: company name, USDOT/MC number, and the documents you upload for verification — USDOT/MC certificate, insurance certificate, driver's license, and W9 form (which includes tax information). We also store the result of the lookup we perform against the FMCSA public database using your USDOT number.

From payments: Stripe processes payments and shares transaction confirmations with us (amount, date, status). Carrier-Connect does not store card numbers — that stays solely within Stripe's systems.

2. What we use this data for

To create and operate your account, verify carriers' identity and authority, process payments, show you relevant loads, communicate with you about your account or a load, and comply with legal obligations or those of our payment providers.

3. Who we share your data with

Stripe, to process payments (posting fee and carrier subscription).

FMCSA: we query their public database with your USDOT/MC number to verify your authority. That lookup uses information that is already public (your registration as a carrier); we do not send your documents or personal data to FMCSA.

Other Platform users: when a Carrier accepts a load, certain contact details are shared between Shipper and Carrier to coordinate the transport. We don't show your verification documents (insurance, license, W9) to other users — only the Carrier-Connect team sees those, to review them.

We don't sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.

4. Where and how your data is stored

Account and load data is stored in a database (Supabase/Postgres) with access rules that limit who can see what — for example, only you and a Carrier-Connect administrator can see your verification documents. Uploaded documents are stored in private, non-public storage.

5. How long we keep your data

While your account is active, and for a reasonable time after closing it if needed to comply with legal or tax obligations, or to resolve pending disputes. If you'd like us to delete your data sooner, email us (see section 7).

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We only use the cookies necessary to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising tracking cookies.

7. Your rights over your data

You can ask us to access the data we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, or delete it (except what we must retain by law or due to an ongoing dispute/payment). Email us at infocarrierconnect01@gmail.com for any of these requests.

8. Minors

Carrier-Connect is not directed at minors and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time. Significant changes will be reflected with a new "last updated" date.
